Reserve Bank of India · Thiruvananthapuram
2026
This is the official platform for RBI Reelathon 2026, developed and managed by the Reserve Bank of India, Thiruvananthapuram Regional Office for the conduct of this competition. This platform is independent of the official RBI website.
How it works
Cyber-enabled financial frauds are rising rapidly across Kerala, with students increasingly becoming both targets and influencers in the digital space. In this backdrop, the Reserve Bank of India, Thiruvananthapuram, seeks to harness the creativity and reach of young minds to spread awareness on critical cyber financial threats.
Through RBI Reelathon 2026, a reel-making competition for college students across Kerala and Lakshadweep, participants are invited to create impactful short videos on themes such as illegitimate loan apps, mule accounts, and digital financial frauds. Beyond being a competition, the campaign aims to evolve into a large-scale social media awareness movement that empowers citizens to recognise, resist, and report cyber fraud.
Your reel must be based on the listed themes. Entries not aligned with the themes may be disqualified.
Illegitimate Loan Apps
Expose the dangers of unregulated digital lending — how they trap borrowers, misuse personal data, and destroy livelihoods.
Mule Accounts
Shed light on how ordinary bank accounts are weaponised in fraud chains — and the devastating consequences for unsuspecting victims.
Digital Financial Frauds
Create awareness about digital financial frauds — scams, phishing, fake investment schemes, and how to stay protected in an increasingly digital financial world.
